Just found out that Green Gospel was named First Runner Up in the General Fiction category of the 2012 Eric Hoffer Awards! It’s really an honor, especially given that the winner was fellow North Carolinian Val Nieman and her amazing novel, Blood Clay. Here’s the link.

My unpublished novel, GREEN GOSPEL, has been named a finalist in the 2007 Dana Awards. It was also named a semi-finalist in the 2008 William Faulkner-William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition.

James Stephen Behrens’ PORTRAITS OF GRACE has won the 2007 Catholic Press Association Award for Production and Design. Although I was editor on this project, all the credit goes to Father James and the designer, the unparalleled Patricia Lynch.

Karen Skalitzky’s A RECIPE FOR HOPE has been given a merit award in the culture category by the 2006 Midwest Book Awards. I was the editor on the project, and I feel like a proud dad.
